The paper reviews international experince in the field of reuse of underground mine openings. Various examples are given, including reuses as: museums, civil applications, good storage facilities, waste disposal sites and undergound laboratories and research stations. Tables listing examples with the categories are included. The case history examples have been obtained from technical literature as well as from contacts with the International Tunnelling Association and the members of the International Organization Commitee of the World Mining Congress.
