The electrochemical behavior of five Au–Gd alloys in three alkaline electrolytes has been characterised by the cyclic voltammetry technique. The alloys studied were: Au 96 Gd 4 , Au 69.5 Gd 30.5 , Au 53 Gd 47 , Au 25 Gd 75 and Au 5 Gd 95 . The electrolytes used were: (i) Na 2 CO 3 , (ii) Na 2 B 4 O 7 and (iii) NaF — each with a concentration of 0.2 M. It was observed that the alloy composition, rather than the microstructure, plays an important role in determining the electrochemical behavior of these alloys. The oxidation process is more influenced by the specific adsorption of B 4 O 22 and F 2 than by the CO 22 .

Abstract
The oxidation process is more influenced by the specific adsorption of B 4 O 22 and F 2 than by the CO 22 .Pubblicazioni consigliate
