Despite advances in treatment, gliomas are notorious for their high-recurrence rates, which complicate patient management and prognosis. We present an update on the management of recurrent gliomas, reviewing the various strategies that can be used in low- and high-grade gliomas, including an analysis of current data on diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and minimally invasive treatments such as Laser interstitial thermotherapy and tumor treating fields therapy.

Abstract

Despite advances in treatment, gliomas are notorious for their high-recurrence rates, which complicate patient management and prognosis. We present an update on the management of recurrent gliomas, reviewing the various strategies that can be used in low- and high-grade gliomas, including an analysis of current data on diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and minimally invasive treatments such as Laser interstitial thermotherapy and tumor treating fields therapy.
