Design and Complexity

This article explores five key terms that are essential for understanding the complexities of contemporary design practice. Over the past 25 years, these concepts have been explored in respected design publications like "Worldesign", "Il Giornale del Design", and "AIS Design Journal. Storia e Ricerche". They have also been shaped by teaching experiences at institutions like Politecnico di Torino, Tecnológico de Monterrey, and Tongji University. Additionally, insights have been gained from participating in decision-making roles for international organizations, including ICSID/WDO and the SID (Italian Design Society), as well as serving as a jury member for various design awards, such as the IF Award and the Compasso d’Oro.
