Beyond the Transcendence. The Feminist Critique of the Notion of God

In this chapter, I will discuss transcendence and its relevance to the feminist philosophy of religion. The general question I will focus on is how feminist philosophy might have something to contribute to this topic and how this way of re-interpreting the theological canon can find a place in feminist philosophy. More specifically, the aim of the chapter is twofold. My goal is (i) to offer an account of transcendence that moves away from traditional approaches and (ii) show how some insights from the debate about the issues of “immanence” and “gender” match feminist purposes.
