This contribution offers a reflection on the resilience of the prevostura of Oulx in response to environmental changes that occurred between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age. The religious complex had already been affected by flooding during the 14th and 15th centuries, yet it managed to survive and continue its activity in the area. However, the major floods of 1728 led to significant transformations, ultimately resulting in a complete reshaping of the landscape and the loss of the architectural complex. By analyzing documentary sources and historical cartography, it is possible to reconstruct and study the spatial configuration of a site that no longer exists today.

Abstract
This contribution offers a reflection on the resilience of the prevostura of Oulx in response to environmental changes that occurred between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age. The religious complex had already been affected by flooding during the 14th and 15th centuries, yet it managed to survive and continue its activity in the area. However, the major floods of 1728 led to significant transformations, ultimately resulting in a complete reshaping of the landscape and the loss of the architectural complex. By analyzing documentary sources and historical cartography, it is possible to reconstruct and study the spatial configuration of a site that no longer exists today.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
