Great craftsmanship characterizes the drawings of Carlo Musso (1863-1935), founder of the Fratelli Musso e Papotti company (1886-1908) and its sole owner from 1909 to 1935. Educated at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin, he became a great connoisseur of artistic and architectural manuals and catalogues. Over his fifty-year career, he produced numerous drawings that demon- strate his deep technical and artistic knowledge, which modified workshop practices in the industrial production of his art industry. A professional heir to Placido Mossello, with whom he had family ties, Carlo Musso produced stucco works and plasters in the years of Eclecticism, following neo-Gothic, and more often neo-Renaissance or neo-Baroque styles. The study of the art industry's archive and library allows for the connection of theoretical and practical knowledge, offering insight into the stucco workers' experience and shedding light on technique, work organization, and the production process.

Abstract
The study of the art industry's archive and library allows for the connection of theoretical and practical knowledge, offering insight into the stucco workers' experience and shedding light on technique, work organization, and the production process.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
