Abstract

From the remote control to the city, television has represented—and continues to represent, even in its recent digital hybridizations—a “symbolic form” through which the design culture of the twentieth century has engaged, following multiple and complex trajectories that remain largely unexplored in international historiography. Against the backdrop of both classical and contemporary studies on television, this issue of AisDesign Journal brings together original and in-depth perspectives, offering a significant contribution on a subject still, for the most part, under-investigated by design historiography.
