From the end of the eighteenth century, nurseries and childhood schools were put in the shadow by a welfare approach and were never at the center of the village. The paper presents the experience of co-designing a new urban and community device, the Polo for children, developed by the Politecnico di Torino and the Università degli Studi di Torino at the request of the municipality of Turin.
