Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Urban Protected Areas (PAs) have been central in raising awareness of the importance of the relationship between man and nature. Through some significant national and international experiences, the paper addresses the growing role of Urban and Peri-urban PAs as strategic tools to operationalise the policies of large area sustainably oriented, the resilience of territories, landscape, social, economic, and cultural enhancement.
