Preface: Introducing the Relationships Between Digital Representation and AR/AI Advanced Experiences

The breadth of interests that emerges around the discipline of Digital Representation linked with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) experiences, offering new ways of interacting with the real, coupled with the very rapid development of technologies, tools, and devices, as well as careful monitoring of the disciplines that can be involved, are in the center of the interests for this book. In this sense, the fields of application open to the worlds of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, architectural, environmental, infrastructural, and product design, and education as a place for advanced training and as a tool for educational enhancement. This collective volume intends to explore, through the lens of the Representation discipline, the research areas that gravitate around AI-XR, opening up new transdisciplinary thinking.
