The return to classrooms and physical space of the university, after restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighted the need to rethink the quality of the spaces and services dedicated to teaching, but also to socialization and active participation to the academic community. The paper highlights the new needs of the student community and identifies the requirements that allow for an improvement in the accessibility, usability, and inclusiveness of spaces, with special attention to outdoor spaces and special needs users. The work shows that a fundamental role in defining the well-being of users is played by outdoor spaces. Spaces that become an extension of the internal space but also a mediation between the university and urban space, used by students but open to citizens.

The work shows that a fundamental role in defining the well-being of users is played by outdoor spaces. Spaces that become an extension of the internal space but also a mediation between the university and urban space, used by students but open to citizens.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
