Abstract
After the defeat of Napoleon, King Vittorio Emanuele I chose the castle of Moncalieri as one of the symbolic places of the Restoration. The staircase must be rebuilt: the project by the architect Giuseppe Battista Piacenza, who died in 1818, was not implemented. The sovereign entrusts his ideas to Piacenza’s son Gioello, who makes four proposals. Carlo Randoni, intending to succeed in Piacenza, criticizes them from a structural point of view: they cannot be made of masonry, or wood or iron, which is considered an unsafe solution.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
