In the Alpine wine regions, the traditional practice of building dry stone wall terraces has shaped landscapes in which aesthetic, natural, and economic values come together. This contribution illustrates strategies and actions to preserve and enhance Alpine vineyard landscapes, presenting the methodology used to move from landscape analysis to interpretation, and then to action, retracing the process that led to the development of landscape planning guidelines.
