Tackling Climate Change is one of the most crucial challenges of the 21st Century. Construction is one of the sectors called upon to meet this challenge. How is architecture changing in times of climate change? The worldwide figures are alarming. Carbon dioxide emissions in this sector have risen continuously. Some nations have committed through policies and mandatory and voluntary standards, but it is insufficient. These programs involve a limited portion of the world's population. Other nations now growing economically and in their inhabitants are still far from achieving the Paris Agreement targets. Nevertheless, some positive changes have been detected. COP 26 in Glasgow can be considered a milestone towards a different approach to design and building. Two main strategies were set up in COP 26: 1) Construction for Zero Emissions; 2) Resilient Built Environment. These strategies were the focus of some presentations given by stakeholders acting in the building process and attending the BASES conference. Each of them reported a framework of information useful to understand how to promote a true and ongoing change in architecture. The paper deals with some of their main achievements.

Abstract
The paper deals with some of their main achievements.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
