Memory and complex social values of industrial heritage sites: a permanent dialogue and tools to support decision-making

The contribution aims to underline the emerging issues regarding the evaluation of value and the evaluation tools to support decisions on intervention scenarios on the historical and former industrial heritage. In particular, the reflections illustrated in the following paragraphs start from the following assumptions: 1) the strategic nature of the involvement of stakeholders in the construction of values, which offers their contribution to starting from their roles and skills; 2) the need for a multidisciplinary approach in the enhancement processes and the construction of teams of researchers, professionals and operators, 3) the urgency to adopt adaptive approaches to heritage, 4) the importance of increasing the attractiveness of such assets for potential investors, who can see transformation operations as competitive, attractive and from an investment/return perspective, as well as from a public perspective, which underlines their social urgency for the community.
