Geotechnical Engineering for the Preservation of Monuments and Historic Sites

The International Symposium on the Preservation of Monuments and Historic Sites of 22-24 June 2022 in Napoli (IS NAPOLI 2022) is the third of a series, the first one having been held in 1996 and the second in 2013. Drawing from the Preface of the latter, we underline that ‘TC301 is intended to provide a forum for interchanges of ideas and discussion, to collect case histories and to promote and diffuse the culture of conservation within the geotechnical community. More specifically, it focuses on geotechnical factors affecting historic sites, monuments, cities. TC301 searches for design criteria and construction methods of our ancestors and reports on specific techniques adopted to preserve ancient sites and constructions’.
