In this chapter, we provide an overview on the use of synthetic fibers for the production of performing epoxy composite materials. We choose to focus our effort on the description of works based on the utilization of carbon and glass fibers. Our decision is motivated by the diffusion of those fibers in plenty of key cutting edge applications and productions. Herein we report an introductive section where we describe the main features of carbon and glass fibers as well as those of epoxy. Afterward, we discuss in detail the new discoveries in the field of synthetic fiber epoxy composites. Our aim is to guide the readers through the world of synthetic-based epoxy materials enlightening the main and most relevant issues.

Abstract
In this chapter, we provide an overview on the use of synthetic fibers for the production of performing epoxy composite materials. We choose to focus our effort on the description of works based on the utilization of carbon and glass fibers. Our decision is motivated by the diffusion of those fibers in plenty of key cutting edge applications and productions. Herein we report an introductive section where we describe the main features of carbon and glass fibers as well as those of epoxy. Afterward, we discuss in detail the new discoveries in the field of synthetic fiber epoxy composites. Our aim is to guide the readers through the world of synthetic-based epoxy materials enlightening the main and most relevant issues.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
