They aim to explore a number of paths in the history of mathematics and mathematical physics at the end of the 18th century. These notes are, of necessity, quite technical; to understand the role of the Méchanique analitique in the development of mathematics and mathematical physics, we need to go through the text line by line and equation by equation.
