The Roman Theatre of Sagunto was declared a Monument of the Historic Heritage of Spain on August 26, 1896, but it cannot be considered an accessible monument. The project aims to carry out actions able to guarantee a wider accessibility, allowing horizontal and vertical mobility, in addition to letting the visit of areas of archaeological interest that are today inaccessible. Moreover, a project of a reversible scenography for the Antiquarium of the Theatre was developed taking in account not only the values of the ancient building but also the fact we were working on a cult-monument-building as designed by Grassi and Portaceli. The scenography is conceptually based on the extrusion of the partition walls between the columnatio wall and the postscaenium wall of the building with the aim of showing, transfigured, the sequence of partitions that made up the skeleton of the ancient theatre.

Abstract
The scenography is conceptually based on the extrusion of the partition walls between the columnatio wall and the postscaenium wall of the building with the aim of showing, transfigured, the sequence of partitions that made up the skeleton of the ancient theatre.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
