Mathematics can also provide practical support for sport. For example, as the authors report, the application of even elementary mathematical concepts has led to the creation of a fully fledged sports discipline in the field of skating: the slalom style. Indeed, by associating graphs with the movements of the skates, the so-called steps, and by combining them, it is possible to construct more complex diagrams and therefore new steps. And this is not all. The trajectories that the skates follow in each step represent well-known curves and, since a vast quantity exists, many of them can give rise to the creation of new steps that are still unknown or apparently unimaginable. In this sense, therefore, Mathematics is able to create new horizons and stimulate the imagination.
