The use of innovative methods such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) allows professionals to optimize their work through developing 3D parametric models that contain a large amount of data useful for the whole building life cycle. BIM definition is often compared to Virtual, Design, and Construction (VDC) that describes the use of integrated multi-disciplinary performance models of design-construction projects to support explicit and public business objectives. The first chapters concern methodological and operational settings of the in-depth thematic studies in which the workflow has been broken down and focused on the education of building and civil engineering students. In detail, this chapter highlights the importance of defining project standards that can be filled into a project template.

Abstract
The use of innovative methods such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) allows professionals to optimize their work through developing 3D parametric models that contain a large amount of data useful for the whole building life cycle. BIM definition is often compared to Virtual, Design, and Construction (VDC) that describes the use of integrated multi-disciplinary performance models of design-construction projects to support explicit and public business objectives. The first chapters concern methodological and operational settings of the in-depth thematic studies in which the workflow has been broken down and focused on the education of building and civil engineering students. In detail, this chapter highlights the importance of defining project standards that can be filled into a project template.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
