Spatial Dimension of the CAP: Territorial Congruence, Supposed and Explicit Territoriality

The management of rural landscapes in the perspective of multifunctionality must look both at rural policies (and their relevant financial programs) and at landscape planning (which addresses quality objectives without financial provisions). An alliance between the two has to be explored in terms of technical tools. In this chapter the authors will make use of some of the most recent studies conducted in Piedmont (Italy) to describe methodological issues of CAP spatialisation, as well as the results of an assessment of the territorial and landscape contribution of both pillars.
