This chapter shows the results for conventional and innovative plasma torches under local thermodynamic equilibrium. The physical model and the equations to be solved are presented together with the commonly employed numerical techniques and the modeling of conventional (cylindrical) torches. Finally, an innovative type of plasma torch is presented.
