SUPERVIEWPOINT

The paper discusses the theoretical background and the exhibit design of an installation made for the "Superelevata" internation exhibition, organized by Genoa's group of the PRIN research "Re-Cycle Italy". The purpose of the installation is to show how recycling activity could be interpreted, and what meaning it assumes, when it is pushed from the small scale of materials and components to the wider urban and territorial dimension. In this process a leading role could be assumed by disuses, or underused, mobility infrastructures. The paper presents and ogoing research, whose purpose is to trace a geography of relevant case studies all around the world; the installation parts links to an on-line database, that can be explored with a normal ICT device, becoming a kind of hyper-installation, partly physical and partly virtual.
