Experimental and computational studies carried out at Politecnico di Torino allowed us to gain more knowledge about the evaluation of the impact of geometrical features of the WTS on flow characteristics in the thermal deposition region. In particular, the adoption of internal guide vanes and a proper rounding of nominal EFIT WTS sharp corners seem to be promising geometrical modifications to be considered in order to achieve the performance objectives imposed. The algorithm developed for the generation of the WTS geometry and the statistical approach to the management of the huge amount of CFD data allows to easily identify potential geometries consistent with performance objectives and design and safety constraints. Next developments of the EFIT WTS design will include experimental validation of the numerical results obtained.

Abstract
Next developments of the EFIT WTS design will include experimental validation of the numerical results obtained.Pubblicazioni consigliate
