Nearly ten years have gone by since the Bologna Declaration: the rules and regulations of European Universities are still adapting to the new model, In some countries the change took place quite easily while other had grater difficulties in switching to the new system. The paper argues to what extent the defined targets has been attained, especially in the Italian academic context as for the Doctoral studies: the new model has meant shifting from a theoretical-debating model to a professional oriented one. Although post-graduate education is relatively new to Italy, it has been now long enough to look back and compare courses to those held in other European countries, touching upon the future outlooks.

Abstract
Nearly ten years have gone by since the Bologna Declaration: the rules and regulations of European Universities are still adapting to the new model, In some countries the change took place quite easily while other had grater difficulties in switching to the new system. The paper argues to what extent the defined targets has been attained, especially in the Italian academic context as for the Doctoral studies: the new model has meant shifting from a theoretical-debating model to a professional oriented one. Although post-graduate education is relatively new to Italy, it has been now long enough to look back and compare courses to those held in other European countries, touching upon the future outlooks.Pubblicazioni consigliate
