The aim of this work is to study the control performed by the wall shape on the vortical structures generated by a rotating cylindrical body. In the case of the flow generated from rest outside a rotating circular cilinder we know that the vorticity created at the solid surface all diffuses to infinity. A suction through the surface of the body can retain the vorticity near the wall [1]. We can suppose that for a complex geometry of the body (without suction) the vorticity is partly retained and partly diffused.

Abstract
The aim of this work is to study the control performed by the wall shape on the vortical structures generated by a rotating cylindrical body. In the case of the flow generated from rest outside a rotating circular cilinder we know that the vorticity created at the solid surface all diffuses to infinity. A suction through the surface of the body can retain the vorticity near the wall [1]. We can suppose that for a complex geometry of the body (without suction) the vorticity is partly retained and partly diffused.Pubblicazioni consigliate
