In this paper a comparison between two Class-E inverter topologies for Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer (CWPT) application is presented. The first topology uses additional passive components to create an LC compensation and increase the transmission efficiency, while the second one directly exploits the capacitive coupling between the plates. An in-depth analysis of the output power and efficiency under variation of the coupling between plates is presented. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of each topology are discussed.

Abstract
