Toccare il villaggio Leumann: un esempio di comunicazione inclusiva dell’architettura

The article deals with drawings in relief as a representational tool capable of responding to the specific needs of people with visual impairment and can, in a broader view, be utilized for the creation of products of inclusive communication that render the narration of the city, of the architecture, of the art, accessible to all. It specifically illustrates the project “Touching the Leumann Village” which, starting from a workshop experience, produced a visual-tactile book aimed at the comprehension and the valorisation of one of the most important examples of industrial villages built in Italy between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The project fits into the broader context of inclusive communication as a tool for the valorisation and fruition of cultural heritage. A topic that is in continuous evolution thanks also to the numerous research and technological transfer studies and projects developed in recent years, both nationally and internationally.
