Urban microclimatology, urban ecology and studies on Public health and air quality can provide the project on a neighborhood and building scale an important contribution to achieve the healthy city. Interdisciplinary research and practices are needed. In the article a methodological hypothesis has been developed through a synthetic exposition of the three visions: the survey on the urban microclimate, the studies on the dispersion of pollutants in urban areas in relation to green areas and the Public health investigations on the interactions between health risk factors, air quality and urban greenery. Studies in different sectors can provide suggestions to architectural design. The application of the approaches highlighted to the neighborhood scale design based on the use of concepts, models and measurements of microclimatic parameters, air quality and health determinants, also starting from an experimentation carried out within the research group and from an ongoing study, is assumed.
