The paper reports some results of the dynamic characterization recently conducted on the Paraboloide in Casale Monferrato, an historical thin shell structure which belongs to the industrial heritage of the region. The Paraboloide takes its name from the parabolic shape of its roofing system. The building was built in 1922, as a clinker warehouse for the Italcementi factory, and it represents the first example in Italy of a construction typology that would had spread through the whole country. In order to evaluate the current state of the structure, the building was investigated by means of both mechanical and dynamic tests. This thorough campaign will be the starting point for the preservation and restoration guidelines of this daring structure.

Abstract
