The socio-economic processes and conditions underway in contemporary territories are leading to a progressive demographic increase: by 2050 it is estimated that 66% of the global population will live in cities. In this perspective, it is essential to manage these changes by collecting, integrating and sharing reliable spatial information concerning the qualitative characteristics of urban environments. In this sense, taking the cognitive perspective of the Ecosystem Services (ESs) is an unavoidable step for the government of the territory at the time of urban regeneration, especially to understand the relationship between the changing quality of the urban environment and human well-being. Abstract

However, knowledge and aspects of operating systems are still underdeveloped. We explore the characteristics of the Settimo T.se public space read through the qualitative characteristics of the ES "Habitat Quality", which is assumed for its ability to mean the notions of health and well-being in the urban environment. We describe its dynamic nature in continuous evolution with the change of the land use scenarios, defining their qualitative-quantitative spatial dimension. Research openings are envisaged concerning the economic evaluation.
