Gli antichi mosaici di Larino: dal materiale all’immateriale (The ancient mosaics of Larino: from the material to the immaterial)

The history of the city of Larino has very deep roots: excavations and essays made from 1973 to today have revealed the presence of a complex stratification, dating back to the Archaic period, but particularly rich in the centuries between the fourth and second century B.C. As evidence of this important past there are the precious polychrome mosaics found in various parts of the ancient city, two of which in the Roman Forum area. In order to "studying, preserving, enhancing and communicating" this important heritage, the use of digital technologies both in the archaeological survey and in the graphic restitution of the excavation results, has allowed to strengthen the previous knowledge, but above all to favor a correct contextualization of the mosaic heritage.
