Abstract
Futurism in architecture, from the Manifesto of Sant'Elia (1914) to the Air Architecture Manifesto of 1934, was always pervaded by an essential tension to transform the utopian visions to concrete and tangible realities. Among the works of the Italian Fascist “ventennio” just a few examples of minor architecture demonstrate the attainment of these ideals. The gas service stations, are buildings born by the needs of the developments of the automotive industry. From Turin to Asmara, the gas and service stations are able to demonstrate how the impulses of the Aeropittura (aeropainting) can be transformed into architectural drawings and from here in solid concrete realities.Pubblicazioni consigliate
