Abstract

The space of the contemporary city has been changing in the modes in which it hosts social groups and their practices of spatial appropriation. During the last decades, temporariness and informality are shaping in a different way the scene in which people daily exchange objects and words. The gradual mutation and hybridization of public space have built the conditions for a wider redefinition of the pre-established notions of private and public sphere. At the same time, the deep redefinition of the housing forms and demands are calling into question effective ways to intervene in a completely new panorama of actors and conditions, gradually becoming more difficult to read and interpret.
