The cities development and the increase of urbanization are challenging for the design and management of public transport networks. The attention to the different social contexts and travel behaviours, on one hand, and the need of predicting the future shape of the city and the suburbs, on the other hand, have received limited attention in designing public transport networks. Understanding the critical parameters and prioritize them in function of their effects on the public transport network is the key to this issue. The paper aims at selecting the effective parameters to be considered in the design of the optimal network for bus only lane and at prioritizing them thanks to the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to reach the most efficient bus network for the city of Rasht.

Abstract
