The Bio.Lea.R project has been selected for grant in Life+ Programme-Environmental Policy and Governance – Call 2009. It aims to compare the performance of a landfill for less reactive, biologically treated waste, managed as bioreactor, to that of a conventionally managed one, with regard to both environmental (especially in terms of biogas production) and economical aspects. During project lifetime (about 4 years), the waste moisture will be controlled using innovative and monitored liquid injection in order to extract higher biogas flow rates in a shorter time than the conventionally managed one.

Abstract

The Bio.Lea.R project has been selected for grant in Life+ Programme-Environmental Policy and Governance – Call 2009. It aims to compare the performance of a landfill for less reactive, biologically treated waste, managed as bioreactor, to that of a conventionally managed one, with regard to both environmental (especially in terms of biogas production) and economical aspects. During project lifetime (about 4 years), the waste moisture will be controlled using innovative and monitored liquid injection in order to extract higher biogas flow rates in a shorter time than the conventionally managed one.
