Abstract

This paper presents the design of a new mechanism for bindings used for sports equipment for ski touring and freeriding. The mechanism has a four-bar linkage structure and it designed by applying graphical and analytical-numerical synthesis techniques. An optimized synthesis was conducted for the choice of the size parameters of the mechanism, following specifications arising from the type of movement required and the meager spaces available for the positions of the bars. The synthesis process made it possible to obtain a mechanism capable of ensuring a movement with ergonomic features during the execution of a step.
