The downscaling of sensing devices is giving several improvements in terms of sensor efficiency and detection limit. It is opening the possibility of doing analysis at molecular level. The interaction with single or tens of molecules is a fundamental step forward because has the possibility of taking information from a single molecule, and not from the statistical behavior of a large number of them, hiding the specific reactions at molecular level.
