Measurements Of Environmental Pollution In The Quirra Area, Sardinia Island (Italy)

In the Italian island of Sardinia, the PISQ military base polygon in Europe is located. The paper focuses on the environmental pollution measurements around the PISQ area, stimulated by an apparently off-normal incidence of illness reported among the population who lives close to the military area, mainly in the form of cancer to the hemolimphatic system and natal genetic malformation. Radioactive pollution from depleted uranium is among the possible causes. Evidence of depleted uranium contamination in lamb bones has been found, however the datum was not confirmed by further analyses and findings.
