Abstract

It’s well known that the European working population is ageing rapidly, because of the demographic trend and the retirement age policy of European countries. At today, managing the ageing labour force, by taking into account individual functional capability limits and disabilities, represents one of the main challenges for companies and yet an important step to improve the working conditions and the satisfaction of workers. The paper describes a step by step approach developed to help allocating workers with inabilities in suitable workstations. Results underline the importance of the ergonomics mapping of each workstations and workplace for a proper allocation worker-workstation, contributing to fully utilize workers’ skills, in respect of their specific needs.
