Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers for space applications need tobe accurately designed considering the severe constraints forced by the utilization of a localization receiver in space environment. To work in this scenario, spaceborne receivers must undergo significant constraints, as low weight, reduced power consumption as well as the capability of processing signals affected by high Doppler shifts and Doppler rates. The impact of the modernized GNSS signalstructures on spaceborne receiver performances has to be investigated. This paper describes the High-Dynamics (HD) software signal generator developed at the Navigation Lab at Politecnico di Torino within the GREHDA project, and presents the first analysis performed on HD simulated GIOVE-A signals, compared to non HD signals (simulated and real).
