The Robust Design problem is frequently dealt with considering one response only, multiple responses are however quite common in practical applications. A general framework for the multivariate problem capable to handle both parameter and parameter plus tolerance design when data are collected from a combined array is presented in the paper. Optimization criterion is based upon a single value in terms of the quadratic loss function. Criterion was selected in order to incorporate both statistical information, such as correlation structure among responses and prediction uncertainty, and such relevant economical information the product/process as relative importance and trade-off among responses from user’s point of view. An application is presented concerning design of theelastic element of a force transducer.
